- Does tastytrade offer paper trading?
- No — this is a genuine gap. tastytrade offers a backtesting tool that simulates strategies against historical data (long/short options, spreads, with delta / %-OTM / underlying-offset / premium strike selection), but not a real paper-trading account with live data. Schwab paperMoney, Webull, IBKR, and E*TRADE all do.
- What's the tastytrade margin rate?
- Tiered: 11.00% on debit balances under $25K, stepping down to 8.00% above $1M (base rate 10% since January 1, 2025; April 6, 2026 schedule). Roughly 5–7 percentage points above IBKR Pro at every tier — on a $100K loan, that's roughly $5,000 per year more than IBKR.
